Robert Toft (PhD, King’s College, University of London) pursues a wide variety of projects within the research-creation paradigm, focusing on historical performance and recording practice. He has written five books on the history of singing (notably Bel Canto, 2013, and With Passionate Voice, 2014) and has given master classes on historical principles of singing at leading conservatories and music schools in many countries. He has created an educational YouTube channel, Singing Early Music, which explores vocal customs in vogue between the 16th and early 19th centuries. His book Recording Classical Music has been included in the list of the 100 Best Music Production Books of All Time.
